She is a working mother of two young boys. This busy working mama gets through her day with good supply of coffee and a great attitude! Becky has a beautiful positive outlook on life and goes with the mantra of ‘what will be will be’. You can follow Becky on IG @be_beck_a_lula
Thanks Becky for sharing your story with us!
1. How many children do you have, name and ages ?
I have two boys, Rohan 3 years old and Oshan 7 months old.
2. What is your current occupation?
I work as a bar tender/waitress.
3. What are the challenges of balancing work and parenting?
The hours. I am lucky to work opposite shifts to my husband but that can mean that I am not home until past midnight some nights. Then I have to wake up with the boys the next morning, so you can imagine……
(I can imagine shifts like that would be exhausting for you)
4. What is your life philosophy?
Just go with it, what will be will be.
(I absolutely love this, such a great attitude to have)
5. What is a piece of advice you would give other mothers and what is one thing you wish you had known before having children?
It is all go from sun up to sun down. Keep a good supply of coffee or tea so you never run out. Silence is suspicious and ask your mum for advice she will know better than any mum’s group on social media. I wish I would have rested more before having kids, especially during pregnancy.
( A mother’s advice is absolutely precious)
6. What is your greatest achievement apart from your child/children so far?
I don’t really know to be honest. Doing things on my own without help, whether is is booking an appointment or getting on a plane with a 3 month old and no buggy. That was quite difficult mostly handing my baby over to customs so they can pat me down because my baby sling sets off the alarm.
(travelling with babies and young kids is a huge accomplishment!!)
7. What have you done that you thought you could never do?
I left home at 23 years old and went to France. I moved back to the UK after.
8. What books do you /did you like reading to your children?
We don’t read many books yet but we make up stories, mostly about Mator from the Disney movie Cars.
I love it when kids use their imagination and making up stories is such a wonderful idea! I hope when you read books to the kids, that you will add my book, Three Times the Fun to their reading.
Would love to hear your story
