Passion for people, passion for our work, passion for our hobbies and passion in life. I am not talking about romantic passion in this case, although I know how important it is in a relationship.
Without being passionate we have no great desire to keep moving forward or to grow. It is our passion that influences our decisions especially the small day to day mundane decisions that we must make in order to move forward. Passion gives us purpose, passion unites us with some or can lead us away from others.
Are you merely existing ? Each day you wake up do you feel like you are in groundhog day, simply “doing” everyday over and over again? Are you lacking a sense of direction? This was me years ago after being a stay at home Mum for 14 years, Don’t get me wrong, I was so grateful to be able to have this experience and to be home to raise my kids and to be there for every single event, every fall, every celebration…However, after giving myself 110% to my kids I lost a part of myself and lost my sense of direction. My passion for my kids was strong but I lost the passion for anything else.
I am a nurturer by nature, my passion is to help others. So I tapped into that passion and it led me to start my own business from home so I would still be able to be there for my kids but also be able to help others. My passion for teaching others and helping them navigate through health and wellness has been incredibly rewarding and has now extended into healthy recipes. My passion for cooking has grown into a wonderful FB community of people looking for cleaner healthier recipes . Getting feedback from people sharing how they have found their passion for cooking is all that I need to keep sharing and helping.
It is that simple, I have always loved to help others. My parents led by example by volunteering their time to help others, to go out of their way to help people , to comfort someone when they needed it or merely to take the time to smile and talk to people. They did this without ever expecting anything back, this is the joyful sense of helping and something they were very passionate about.
This past year and a half of Covid has in some instances felt like groundhog day, but at the same time it has enable me to really define my passion and to find the purpose that keeps me moving forward as opposed to stagnating.
