She is learning the motherhood ropes like all of us and doing an amazing job at bring up three kids at once with her supportive husband, while starting over in her adopted home . You can follow Dunya and her beautiful family on IG @hozaya_triplets
Thanks Dunya for sharing your journey with us!
How many children do you have, name and ages?
I have two year old triplets, Jonathan, Yonel and Yama.
What is your current occupations?
I am a full time mother, content writer for tripletsbook.com and recently working on an online kids’ store project.
What are the challenges of balancing work and parenting?
I always try to spend as much time as possible with my triplets, especially the one on one time with each on a daily basis. I make sure to respond to their needs and keep them busy and entertained.
Hence, maintaining other work or keeping up with the house chores to find time to care for myself is a big challenge and that makes getting through the day seem like a great accomplishment.
What is your life philosophy?
“LIVE WITH NO REGRETS’, if it’s good, it’s wonderful , if it’s bad it’s an experience, take whatever life throw at you, stand tall, move on and learn your lesson.
(That is a wonderful life lesson to have and to teach your kids!)
5. What is one piece of advice you would give to other mothers and what is one thing you wish you had known before having children?
“Let nature take its course”, that is what my husband always tells me when things stress me out when tying things to a certain timeline and it always gives me a sense of peace.
I wish I had known that there is only one right way to be a good mom; my way! especially in the first months of infancy. My thoughts and ideas differ entirely from another mom’s thoughts and ideas about how to be a good one and thats absolutely ok. Our kids take from us what makes us unique in our own right.
(Great advice, no one can walk in your shoes but you!)
6. What is your greatest accomplishment apart from your children?
While juggling my busy mom and wife’s life, my accomplishment would be always trying to improve in myself and skills and do better in everything I already do and succeeding in the simplest things in that regard is my greatest accomplishment.
7.What have you done that you thought you could never do?
Having triplets as a first time mom, in the most difficult period of my life(mentally, emotionally and physically) and hustling through with my husband to do whatever it takes for our little family. Also living oceans away from my family, relatives, friends and my city Ankawa.(Iraq)
(I hear you, living far from your family is difficult)
8. What books do you like reading to your children?
I do read them what they pick from their collection. Yama’s current favourite are books about feelings and emotions and sea life ones.
Jonathan and Yamel’s current favourite are animal books. The one that all three enjoy and is our bedtime story is ” The Very Stubborn Elephant”
I love reading them books especially ones that they can relate to. Therefore, I cannot wait to get them your amazing book, Three times the Fun.
Would love to hear your story
