This weeks Mother with Many is Stacy Bauer. A Teacher and a fellow children’s book author. I find that Stacy and I have a lot in common both having teaching backgrounds , writing children’s books and getting out of our comfort zone. Stacey just released her third book which you can find on Amazon or click on the link at the bottom of this article. She also is the winner of three Dragonfly Awards which honors excellence in literature! You will enjoy reading about Stacy and her challenges she faces as a very busy working mother and wife and trying to find time to fit everything in. You can find Stacy on IG :@stacycbauer #camikangaroo or her website www.stacycbauer.com
Thanks Stacy for sharing your journey with us!
1)How many children to you have?
Wyatt is 7 in second grade. Camden is 10 in fourth grade.
2)What is your current occupation?
I am a teacher and children’s author.
3)What are the challenges of balancing work and parenting?
My challenges are not having enough time for it all. I feel like I’m not doing anything well because I’m stretched so thin. I’m tired. There’s a lot of stress. It’s hard having time for my husband and myself. I stay up too late working on my “second career”, being an author and don’t get enough sleep.
(Stacy, I can totally relate! Often I think I take on too much and don’t do things as well as I could be doing)
4)What is your life philosophy?
My life philosophy is go for your dreams. Take the first step. Get out of your comfort zone. Have fun!! Be kind and help people.
5) What is a piece of advice you would give other mothers and what is one thing you wish you had know before having children?
My Advice for other mothers is that you’re not going to be a perfect mom, but you are enough just as you are. I still struggle with that. I am very hard on myself and I need to learn to give myself grace.
I wish someone had reminded me more often that I’m not going to treasure every single moment with my kids. But they will love me no matter what. In fact it’s good for them to see me mess up.
6) What is your greatest achievement apart from your child/children so far?
My greatest achievement is becoming a published author. That’s been my dream since I was a child.
7) What have you done that you thought you could never do?
I never thought I’d be any good a marketing. I’m still not great and it doesn’t come naturally to me, but I’m doing better than I thought I would.
8) What books do you/did you like reading to your children?
My kids and I like funny books. Books that make us laugh like “the legend of rock, paper, scissors” and the “mother Bruce” books. We are also currently reading Harry Potter together.
I look forward to reading Stacy’s books. My kids and I loved Harry Potter ! I hope that Stacy and her kids will enjoy reading Three Times The Fun as well!
